The Bottom Line: Focus on God
This is a long one, but it’s critical. Please read ⬇️🕊️
In this special episode, Diane is sharing a powerful message of faith for the world. The past few years have been so dark, and all of us are constantly faced with hate, division, violence, disease, and mental and emotional difficulties. It’s exhausting.
What is the answer? We need to turn our focus back to God, and we need to stop trying to fill His shoes.
Where do I, as a Christian, fit in with so much working against us? We are called to be the light in the darkness. In 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul wrote, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” We need to love and help spread to joys of salvation to all corners of the Earth. It is not our job to pass judgment; it’s God’s.
Why should I love people I consider sinners? Because you’re one too. We all are. Sin is sin, and there is no hierarchy. Jude 22-23 says, “And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.” This is where the Christian adage “love the sinner, hate the sin” comes from—recognizing that hate in this context means in the Godly sense, i.e., without malice. That being said, surround yourself with those who are also in the pursuit of righteousness and create a community of people who can help you back on track when you falter.
I don’t believe in God, so why should I need to turn to Him? We understand that so many have been hurt by religious people. This is not what we, as Christians, are called to do. Using fear or shame to try and coerce others into believing is simply unGodly. In fact, many Christians have had negative religious experiences too. For a lot of us, it took walking away and experiencing the darkness of the world without God to come back to Him for the peace, comfort, and joy we now feel in being able to turn to Him. We spread this message and want everyone to turn to God because we want everyone to feel that same joy and love for their fellow human. Ultimately, God gave us free will because He wants us to choose Him on our own, but this is a journey that really takes time.
Thank you for watching, listening, and reading. We will leave you with this: Don't wait for perfect situations to think God is doing something positive in your life. ❤️
